loss of internet access...
last night I was concerned my access to the internet was down. Of course it recovered quickly. I am glad I am not relying on the internet in Pakistan right now!

wiki progress ?
I have been updating http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MBA. Very simple to do for sure. I thought the page needed some links to actual MBA Programs (a page about MBA without links to the real thing seemed a little hollow to me). So I set up 'header' "MBA Programs". I was then distracted with work ... when I returned my new header had vanished! I checked the 'history' section, and sure enough someone had deleted it with the note "Removed prelude to linkspam".

OK, not being entirely sure of the definition of 'linkspam', and this person not entirely sure of my true intent, I moved forward, readded the header and linked to the top seven US-based programs and top two from Europe. I also added a couple of links to other decent resources (MBA bloggers and a discussion board). Once I did this I realized that perhaps linking to outside URLs in this fashion was not appropriate, so I linked the schools to their wikipedia entries (the entire exercise was worthwhile just to realize that schools have these entries and no doubt did not create them themselves).

Anyway, my work was again eliminated with the note "It was link spam this afternoon and noting has changed". I am curious how this would be considered linkspam ... and again, I think the entry on MBA should include links to schools that provide the MBA.

I e-mailed the person who removed my work, and I have not heard back (strange how quickly the person is able to remove my work, yet not respond to e-mail).

I read a note somewhere online that the reason why wikipedia works is the vigilance of the eyeballs checking people's work (this was noted in contrast to the experience of the LA Times). I have first hand proof of this to be the case, yet I ask, what rules did I break ?
